Annual Human Rights Lecture-Justice and Addiction
June 12 @ 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm
The lecture is brought to you by the Human Rights and Equality Committee in partnership with the Law Society Professional Training
Aims and Objectives
This lecture will explore an innovative approach, pioneered in the United States of America, to tackling the serious and constantly occurring societal issue of drugs addiction. It will provide an insight on the intersection of drug policy and protection of human rights and is aimed at all those who might have an interest in human rights and who wish to gain an insight into this important aspect of the criminal justice system. The Law Society is honoured to have as a keynote speaker Honourable Judge Craig D. Hannah who presides over a Court which is recognised for a novel and pioneering approach in the manner in which it seeks to balance the rights of all stakeholders affected by crimes involving drug addiction issues.
